Våmhus Church
Våmhus kyrka
Våmhus old chapel built in wood, in 1635, was southeast of the present church. The place known since ancient tomb chapel. The chapel was demolished 1789th The pulpit, baptismal font and a few chandeliers remain and kept in the present church.
In 1769 it was decided at a dean search that it would build a new stone church. The old chapel was too small and in poor condition. In 1771 began to lay the foundations, but only at the 1790 century the church was finished. Lack of money and drawings that came out a couple of reasons why the process took so long. At the end of the 1800s was undertaken major repair and some small steps were taken in the early 19OO's.
In the summer of 1952 visited Eric Wickman, director of the Greyhound buses in the United States, his family farm in Limbäck. He had the impulse to pay for a new tornhuv to replace the old somewhat disproportionate. builder Anders Diös , born in Indore and family with Eric Wickman was contacted. Restoration needs were found to be larger than first thought so also Anders Diös shot to medium and restoration was completed. On October 31, 1954 was reinstated in the church. Erik Wickman died in February of that year and had therefore never experience this.

About me
I'm a photographer who likes to take photos around my cabin at Little Pike Lake in northern
Dalecarlia's Wilderness in Sweden - summer, autumn, winter and spring.
In the areas around my cabin live bears, wolves, wolverines and lynx. Birds thrive in the trees, shrubs and small lakes while golden eagles patrol the skies.
Sometimes I take a trip to a place somwhere for both nature and culture photography.
As a digital raw-photographer, I think I have, much like a film photographer, both the right and duty to do whatever I want with my "negative" :-)
If you want to use some photos please contact me first for terms.
